A 7-Week Strategic Journey
To Sharpen Your Focus and Design Your Harvest Portfolio
Facilitator: Joyce Li, PhD, PMP, ICP-ACC
Format: Small-Group Workshops (Max 8) + 1:1 Individual Mentoring
I. Executive Summary
The Purpose Alignment Lab (PAL) is a structured experience for professionals with over 10 years of experience who have achieved external success but are sensing a shift toward a "next chapter."
Most high-achievers respond to this uncertainty by adding more "busy-ness." The PAL takes the opposite approach: Strategic Subtraction. By synthesizing 15 years of doctoral research in human flourishing and counselling psychology with the discipline of project portfolio management, we strip away the non-essentials to architect a Life Purpose Statement and a Harvest Career Portfolio that is resilient, meaningful, and actionable.
II. The Methodology: From Linear to Circular
The program moves away from the traditional "Career Ladder" (Linear) and toward a "Harvest Portfolio" (Circular). We utilize three distinct lenses:
The Scientific Lens: Utilizing the six domains of human flourishing, meaning and purpose research to measure and improve well-being.
The Agile Lens: Applying ICP-ACC coaching principles to pivot quickly and iterate on your life-map.
The Minimalist Lens: Identifying fear-based motivations to shed the "clutter" that obscures your unique gifts.
III. The 7-Week Roadmap
Phase 1: The Audit (Weeks 1-2)
Session 1: Orientation & The Meaning Audit
Establishing group norms and the "Safe Circle."
Introduction to Wisdom Tools and existential frameworks.
Launching the Meaning & Purpose Audit: Identifying where you are vs. where you are called to be.
Session 2: The Self-Discovery Inventory
A deep dive into life gifts, talents, and core values.
Using strengths and values as filters to "Celebrate the Unique You."
Identifying the Common Threads: Recognizing the persistent themes and core motivations that have linked your professional successes and personal fulfillment over the past years.
Phase 2: The Root System (Weeks 3-4)
Session 3: The Roots of Flourishing
Deep study of the Flourishing Domains, and the science of Meaning and Purpose.
Transitioning from "Me to We": Identifying your Tribe and collective well-being.
Recovering "Childhood Dreams" as data points for future passion projects.
Session 4: The Subtraction (The Strategic Pivot)
Identifying Fear-based vs. Meaning-based motivations.
The Meaning & Purpose Audit: Determining what you must stop doing to make room for your purpose (Decluttering physical/mental/professional spaces).
Visioning a desired future through the lens of Urban Minimalism.
Phase 3: The Architecture (Weeks 5-7)
Session 5: Life Purpose Articulation
Synthesizing data from Weeks 1–4 into a draft Life Purpose Statement.
The Specialist Mirror: A peer-review exercise to validate resonance and energy.
Refining the "Why" behind your next chapter.
Session 6: The Harvest Portfolio Design
Structuring your "Four Seeds": Paid Work, Learning, Rejuvenation, and Impact.
Integrating passion projects and caregiving roles into a cohesive professional identity.
Finalizing the digital workbook and "Life Portfolio Map."
Week 7: Individual Mentoring Call (1-Hour)
Private 1:1 session with Dr. Joyce Li.
Final review of your 12-month actionable roadmap.
Acknowledging blind spots and celebrating the "North Star" alignment.
IV. The Circular System (The Mutual Pledge)
The PAL operates on a Gift Economy model to prioritize human flourishing over traditional transactions.
Market Value: C$900+
Mutual Pledge: C$300 (Individual) | C$500 (Pair).
The "Final Gift": At the conclusion of the program, participants are invited to provide a final contribution based on the value received and their current season of life.

The Challenge
You have achieved external success, yet you feel unfulfilled and wondering, “Is this all there is?” The PAL is designed to help you move from theoretical wandering to structured action.
The Value Proposition
The Purpose Alignment Lab (PAL) is a 7-week strategic journey designed for high-achieving professionals ready to transition from external success to internal fulfillment. This foundational program replaces theoretical wandering with a structured ‘Harvest Career Portfolio’ you can use immediately to architect a clear, actionable Life Purpose Statement draft.
I have spent 15 years mapping this terrain so you can navigate it in seven weeks. By synthesizing doctoral research in human flourishing, counselling psychology, and project portfolio management, the PAL provides a high-touch, evidence-based roadmap for shedding non-essentials and sharpening your focus.
